At LifeScape Premier we practice Functional Medicine, meaning that we offer a patient-centered approach; investigating the underlying causes of disease or illness and we use advanced diagnostic testing to understand each individual’s personalized make-up, family history and genetics, and current levels of vitamins, minerals, hormones, blood work and directional indicators. Everyone’s make up is different and blanket diagnoses, knee-jerk reactions and one-size-fits-all panacea are not part of the prescription in our practice.
Functional Medicine addresses the whole person, and not just an isolated set of symptoms. Our physicians spend time with our patients; listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can impact complex, chronic disease and long-term health and vitality.
LifeScape Premier’s functional approach to medical issues includes a comprehensive assessment of each patient, a complete executive physical, as well as personalized testing, including some or all of the following, based on each patient’s individual needs.
Individualized Testing for Customized Care
We take an in-depth look at our patients’ personal make-up and current level of health using advanced diagnostic tests and tools to get to the root of illness, ailments and maladies before creating a custom plan of action and care. The SpectraCell Functional Intracellular Nutrient Analysis allows us granular insights into an individual’s cellular constitution and informs our decision making process to create a path to health and vitality.
Oftentimes diet and nutrition play significant roles in disease, chronic inflammation and common ailments, yet often go unnoticed or under-diagnosed. We utilize Delayed Food Allergy Testing to pinpoint specific personal situations which may be causing issues with our patients. And the Neuroscience Neurotransmitter Testing offers us intelligence into a host of factors and predictive biomarkers, neurotransmitter levels and potential hormone imbalances.
We also utilize a specialty clinical laboratory that develops and performs laboratory testing in immunology and cell biology supporting the personalized treatment and prevention of chronic disease. This includes Cell Science Systems testing; best known for pioneering the Alcat Test for food and chemical sensitivities.
You may have seen the Alcat test recently featured on ABC15 in Phoenix on a segment about food allergies and dietary intolerance. Watch the video here.
The study of the human genome is transforming the practice of medicine. LifeScape Premier providers are at the cutting-edge in their understanding of genetics applications in the clinical setting including evaluation of your genetic risks, specialized genetic testing pharmacogenetics, and tailored referrals to genetic specialists.
Cognitive Impairment Screenings
These screenings are designed to proactively identify preventable and sometimes reversible causes of premature disability and demise. Screening takes approximately 30 minutes on a touchscreen computer and is scored by respected neuropsychologists. Data points are individually assessed for each participant based on a person’s overall cognitive function for their age and level of education. Individualized results and recommendations are provided; scoring on a number of factors, including the person’s memory, symbol fluency, executive function and take into consideration elements such as depression and medication.
The testing assists in identifying mood problems, difficulty with executive functions (including driving risks), as well as cognitive impairment. LifeScape then uses the tests to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for cognitive impairment including medications, behavioral strategies, and nutritional interventions.
LifeScape includes an annual cognitive screen complimentary to our Premier-level concierge patients, however non-patients may elect to undergo the testing at a cost of $145 per non-Premier patient. The fee is less than 1/10th the cost of a standard neuropsych battery. To screen, non-Lifescape patients must schedule at least one consultation visit with one of the practice’s award-winning providers, plus a follow-up visit to review test results and recommendations.
