Dr. Wilder is Board certified in Family Medicine, has received advanced training in Functional Medicine, and earned a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. She completed a fellowship in Faculty Development at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and served on the faculty of The Uniformed Services University, The George Washington University, and the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. She currently teaches medical students from The University of Arizona and Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences.
Dr. Wilder has written several textbook chapters and journal articles with specific emphasis on “patient centered” medicine. She is the former President of the Arizona Academy of Family Physicians and served on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Foundation for Women, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to preventing domestic violence and child abuse.
Dr. Wilder practices full-spectrum Family Medicine for all ages including well-woman, pediatric, and adolescent care and geriatrics. She has extensive training in personalized, Functional Medicine with a focus on primary prevention and addressing the underlying causes of illness while reducing reliance on medications. Dr. Wilder has special expertise in nutritional interventions for mood disorders in adults and children and advanced hormone management. She believes in a collaborative, team approach to care with her patients.
Dr. Wilder is a renowned, national speaker, published author, and media guest. Known for her insightful, forthright views on healthcare, she has been dubbed the “Medical Maverick” and is a regular guest on ABC15’s “Sonoran Living.” She has been a consultant to DreamWorks Television, provides parenting advice on BabyFirstTV, is a member of Phoenix’s KPNX-TV Channel 12 “Health Team,” and is regularly sought out for her opinions by national news outlets.
Concierge Medicine Today lists Dr. Wilder as one of only 21 “Top Doctors in Concierge Medicine” nationally while the Consumers Research Council, The Center for the Study of Services, and Best Doctors lists her among the nation’s top Family Physicians. She is a multiple recipient of Phoenix Magazine’s “Top Doc,” 101 North magazine’s “People’s Choice,” Arizona Foothills Magazine’s “Best of our Valley,” and Ranking Arizona’s “Best Family Doctors” awards, was eWomenNetwork’s Phoenix/Scottsdale “Mom Entrepreneur of the Year,” and one of Entreprenista’s “Phoenix Women Entrepreneurs You Should Know.”
Dr. Wilder grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, one of seven siblings. She attended school with Barak Obama and was regularly sent home due to her reluctance to wear shoes. She met her husband on her first day of college where she maintained three, simultaneous jobs in order to pay her tuition. Dr. Wilder was an accomplished triathlete until blindsided by a wayward golden retriever. She has been quoted as saying, “Never jump out of a perfectly good airplane” and “Always set the parking break before leaving your mother-in-law in a locked car.” Dr. Wilder has three beautiful daughters, including twins, studied meditation with Deepak Chopra, and enjoys yoga and healthy cooking. She is passionate about medicine.
